It's not a drying station

So, springs rains have finally come to Baton Rouge. There have been some gully washers over the past few days. Since I have dogs, I have to deal with the wet canine situation. And not just wet, but soaked, because of course, they can't wait for the rain to die down before insisting they need to go out to potty. I keep towels by all the doors and try to get the worst of the wet off as we come in.

Kip likes to get a quick pat down before hopping on the dog futon and rolling around. I keep a quilt on futon for ease of dog hair management. I can't seem to explain to Kip that it's not a drying station.

Tycho, on the other hand, loves a brisk rub down. Her trick is to then rub up against my jeans to complete her drying off.

They keep me amused.

Persistent little buggers

Mice are still in evidence. One was bold enough to be scurrying around the TV stand last evening. Quickly put down traps, but it still took 30 minutes to catch it.

Planting and mice

Once again there were no mice in the traps this morning. Dare I hope I've rid the house of them?

Went to the Master Gardeners plant sale on Saturday and picked up a bunch of plants. Put in a butterfly garden in the back yard corner with a butterfly bush, some pentas and bee balm. Prettied up the mailbox area with shrimp plants, coleus, salvia and ferns. Maybe I inherited Dad's green thumb after all. .

Winning the fight?

No mice were trapped overnight. Yeah. I'll leave the traps down for the next week or so, but hopefully the five already caught were the only ones partying in my pantry. Have to be careful to keep the dogs out of the traps. Hate to have one stuck to a big nose.

Mice fight

Mice have invaded this week, mostly in the pantry. Pest control company put down sticky traps, which means I had to dispose of them. Caught three last evening and two more this morning. Eeeww!
